Our team members bring a rich breadth of knowledge and experience in food growing, biodiversity and conservation that, combined with a passion for building community well-being and resilience, allow us as an organisation to develop, support, and facilitate the use of community greenspace projects in Wester Hailes.

    Greig Robertson

    Chief Executive

    Greig has worked in community greenspace development for over twenty years.  He helped set up Wester Hailes Growers after working in the area for several years, and has worked part-time as its CEO since then.  Greig is particularly involved in ‘placemaking’ activities such as the development of the Greenway Hub.

    Head Community Gardener

    Alan is a keen gardener who is passionate about community wellbeing and bringing people together. He oversees our community gardens, to support food growing and facilitate their use as outdoor activity spaces. He is an avid cyclist and you will often find him delivering fresh fruit and veg to other local community food outlets on his cargo bike.

    Community Gardener

    Gaby is a passionate gardener and garden designer who strives to prioritise the environment and enhance the wellbeing of communities she works in. She is the Community Gardener at the Calders Greenshoots Garden, and in her spare time you will find her tending to residential gardens or drafting garden designs with a coffee in hand.

    Community Gardener

    A passionate gardener since childhood, Richard is our Community Gardener at Clovenstone. He discovered his love for nature while helping out in his grandad’s garden, and when he’s not busy tending to plants, he enjoys immersing himself in books and exploring a diverse range of music—from the timeless beauty of Beethoven to the iconic sounds of The Beatles.

    School Farm Leader

    Shona has been the School Farm Leader at Sighthill Primary for four years and recently started working at Canal View Primary.  She really enjoys helping the young people grow their own produce, gain new skills and confidence as well as an appreciation of seasonal produce.

    School Farm Leader

    With a background in conservation ecology, outdoor and woodland education, creative arts, and outdoor therapy, Stephanie is passionate about the outdoors and strives for School Farm pupils at Canal View to have an inspiring and positive time in the project. She has many years experience guiding young people to make connections with nature through practical and enjoyable hands-on activities and experiences, promoting sustainable, community orientated, and climate-positive practices along the way.

    Administration Officer

    Sam is our whizz with numbers and keeps things ticking over behind the scenes. Outside work, he enjoys a beach stroll and is very handy with DIY home renovations.
