Free creative writing workshops in the Greenway Garden starting on 25th May.
“Come and find your poetic voice in the garden! Over six weeks, we’ll connect with nature, take inspiration from nature poetry, and write our own poems based on what we discover. What we do will depend on what the group is interested in, and you can write anything from a rap to free verse to a sonnet – it’s up to you. All levels of experience welcome, including those who have never written a poem before!
The sessions will be run by Linden McMahon, who is a poet, performer, fiction writer and arts facilitator. Their pamphlet of ecopoetry, All the plants I have half-grown, is out now on Stewed Rhubarb Press. They have been an artist in residence at Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park, co-created a trail of poems and stories through the community gardens of Bethnal Green, and run creative writing clubs for young people at Ministry of Stories in Hoxton. They also like baking elaborate desserts, making pots, and reading sci-fi novels. You can see more on their website: https://lindenkatherinemcmahon.org”
